B37: BriskerGolf played Casually, like Skins, or Formally, using a BG App

Like the classic game of Skins, BriskerGolf is both an individual and a team game. Unlike Skins however, BriskerGolf is a tightly regulated game, whose adherents are guided by a series of Brisker Rules that ensure that Brisk progress is made by every BriskerGolfer on every hole.

Like Skins, BriskerGolf may be played completely informally by a group of three, four, or, with special permission, five or more BriskerGolfers, with just a standard golf course scorecard, as a guide to handicap allowances on individual holes.

More formally, BriskerGolf may be played with the aid of two back-to-back printed scorecards:

  • an Omniscorecard to record all gross scores and highlight the relevant net results, including positive, neutral and negative scores
  • BriskerGolf Scorecard to record only positive outcomes: wins that result in the award of a coin or collection of coins

More formally still, BriskerGolf may be played with the aid of a BG App (BriskerGolf App), in particular for Multiple Rounds (MR), which will doubly ensure that Brisk progress is made by every BriskerGolfer on every hole, by facilitating the following:

  • Interpretation of Brisker Rules
  • Recording of all Gross scores, including all legitimate curtailments (pick-ups), and all illegitimate scores (futilely high!), by Secondary Markers, with support from Primary Markers, and Self Markers
  • Automatic dynamic interpretation of Gross scores
  • Automatic dynamic interpretation of Net scores
  • Automatic registration of a Penalty, P, when appropriate, and two-off-the-next-tee penalty given to errant BriskerGolfer
  • Special exclusion penalty P18 imposed if time-wasting offence occurs on 18th hole.
